Aliens Vs Predator Demo - The Verdict
I played one game on the XB360 and I didn't have a problem with anything. I just noticed it seriously lacked in the anti-aliasing department, but, that wasn't really a shocker. I thought the balancing was pretty good though, for what it is. I don't really know how much more balanced it COULD get.
I find it amusing that they're complaining about it being unpolished, I figured it was obvious that it was a pre-release and some things wouldn't be AS solid as the final build. I guess some people look past that screen and expect it to sparkle and gleam. Did any of you notice or feel that the controls were clunky in anyway? Or did you feel the game is still extremely unbalanced?
How do you all feel about this? Do you agree completely? Do you agree just a little bit? Or not at all?

Its fun on the 360. I hear the connecting to games on the pc is bad. 360 doesnt get that problem and theres no lag.

I feel the controls arent clunky but just getting used to controlling the alien and pred is a bit daunting at first. And from my view if there was any inbalance is maybe the predator (but just a little) Its probably since he has to find the good weapons

Yeah, I have no problems with either versions. PC version is fine now thanks to the update fix they released yesterday. Before then the whole matchmaking ordeal was a complete travesty. I'm picking up both versions, so I'm glad that both versions handle great. Sounds like the PS3 one is doing good as well. I'll probably play the campaign on the 360 and then multiplayer on my PC, I haven't decided yet.
I've talked to other friends of mine and the results were interesting. I know people that LOVE it and then I know people that thought it was completely horrible, which is unfortunate. I just don't understand what they're looking for and what they're seeing that I'm not. If anything I could see people saying "it's not my thing" or "it's kinda buggy". I mean, to each their own, but I don't understand how people can say it's really bad or horrible. Makes me sad.

Ive had exactly the same problem. Some of my friends absolutly love it and are gonna buy it Asap. There is one who downright hates it saying its too dark no crouch no ADS etc.
I see what you mean there is no middle ground on this

Agreed. I dont think the weapons being scattered is a problem tho. But your right about the controls. Confusing at first, but when you get the hang of it only one word comes to my mind. AWESOME.

Flamethrower
-Needs a damage boost
-Accuracy needs to be fixed
Marine's Speed
-Seriously, the Marines should be able to walk a little bit faster than that.
Marine Crouch
-After playing a good deal as the Marine and winning most of my matches as one. I did wish I had a crouch in certain scenarios, it'd have actually helped out a lot.
Marine's Flashlight
-Needs a wider range and a bit brighter.
Alien's Vision of Predator
-I think the Alien should still be able to see the predator while cloak, but not have as a big of a glow outline as the Marines do.
Predator Arsenal
-I believe they should start out with the plasma caster, but only have enough energy for one shot.
Weapon/Item Placement
-A lot of it needs work, it just seems randomly placed on the map. It might just be the map, but they should re-work their placement.
(This is all that in the demo that i believe should be fix. But hey, it's a demo, it doesn't need to be patched up)

I never feel vulnerable because each specie manage to handel every other race in a way or another. (this depends truly on the skill you have with the specie your playing)
The gameplay has really increased and is certainly an improvement in avp series, thoo I'm not the hardcore fan of the avp and their previeus gameplay of the games, this feels really natrual.
The map is indeed dark and may be problem for few people depending on the tv/monitor your playing the game on. (this can be solved by increasing the brightness in game or if that doesn't work sufficient changing your brighness of you screen)
But for me is just part of the scary experience as marine, the predator just needs to use his visions wisly like a real hunter. (predator is my kind of specie ;P )
I hope you respect my opinion.
Kind regards

Bullshit.
Multiplayer is good, this is one of the earlier demos Rebellion has given to us.
Crouch is no nedded, if you see Predator looking on you with plasma, disc or stick i suggest you sprint and jump.
Why would they start with Plasma already? Predators would be overpowered and multiplayer wouldnt be balanced.
Why complain about Alien vision when Predator is cloaked? Its good enough to spot him.
The entire point of the game is that is dark because of AvP atmosphere... I hope you werent expecting cheesy colors as Monolith did to AvP2.
