i can tell by some of the words sterling uses that he did indeed read my email i sent last night regarding the GI review.
while i normally dont really like jim i agree with him that there will be a lot of people who wont get what this game is going for.. but plenty of people who love the source materials and the universe who will.
its all about being in the movies for me ( the good ones). and ive had lots of those moments in the demo. i for one cant wait for release.

Jim Sterling
"Some people can still understand what the game was about and mark it poorly."
Absolutely, but if this review is any indication, that won't be the case with AvP. I have no problem with GI's decision to score AvP with that number (except the silly .75 nonsense) but I do ask that a reviewer does more to explain the score than simply say "it's crap because I don't like it and it's crap."
His arguments seem to indicate that he hasn't played an AvP game before. Complaining about walking on walls as an alien, or using stealth as a Predator, when these are the things that made the first two AvPs so successful. He even says the original AvPs were "critically acclaimed" but doesn't say he played them himself.
It's GI's review and as a fellow reviewer, I respect the score. I just don't think the writing that accompanied did a fair job of explaining the score.
this is exactly how i feel.
